BUSINESSES in Bury are being invited to a free seminar to learn how they can limit the impact of interest rates on their business.

The Impact of Interest Rates on Business event, organised by Greater Manchester Chamber, will take place on Thursday at the Bank of England north west agency office, Manchester.

A range of speakers will be on hand to offer advice to companies on how they can protect themselves from any future changes in interest rates.

They include John Young, north west agent for the Bank of England and Andy Mannix from the Royal Bank of Scotland.

A representative from HSBC bank will also join the panel.

Dr John Risk, principal economic adviser at Greater Manchester Chamber, said: "The Bank of Englands Monetary Policy Committee will be deciding if they will hold or raise the interest rate level on this day so we have certainly picked a great time to hold our event.

"This event will discuss how interest rates are set and what they mean for local firms.

"It will also explain how companies can manage interest rate risk, so I would advise anyone who runs a businesses to come along on the day to find out more."

The free event will be held at the Bank of England north west agency office in King Street, Manchester from 9.30am to 11am.

Refreshments will be provided.
