LAST Tuesday was the annual general meeting of the Prestwich Co-op Camera Club and there was a good attendance.

The current secretary, treasurer and chairman gave their reports on what they thought about the previous years activities.

There was much discussion about the lack of facilities for exhibiting the prints from the Annual Exhibition and several members had been making enquiries to enable them to be put on display at either the Rotunda in Radcliffe and/or at the Bury Met Centre.

These enquiries are still in progress so we may see an exhibition of, at least, some of the prints before the year is out.

The Treasurer's report was quite optimistic even though room rent will be higher next year. Membership has grown and the balance is such that there need not be an increase in subscriptions.

The new chairman, Vincent Barlow, took over and is first task was to find his successor. Phil Cohen was persuaded to fill the post of vice-chairman, to succeed Vincent next year.

Brian Proctor, who has had the job of both competition secretary and exhibition secretary for some time has now found that other commitments now make it difficult to do both.

Our retiring chairman, Roy Taylor offered to take over as exhibition secretary.

The rest of the committee and officers remain unchanged and they are prepared to carry on for another year, at least.

Next Tuesday, April 5, there will be the monthly assignment. The subject for prints and slides is Faceless People and there will be an outside judge. Bring all your entries or just yourselves to the side door of the Bridge Methodist Hall, behind Radcliffe Library between 7.30 and 8pm.
