MRS Liz Broad's title was A Brush with Art. Her first container was a conical shaped glass vase, very art deco.

The greenery consisted of variegated elaeagnus plain and variegated ivy leaves.

Peach lillies and yellow foxtail lillies gave the height, yellow roses and pale yellow carnations filled the vase. Triangles of bear grass helped to excentionate the art deco design.

Next come a low oblong metallic container. Cotomiaster branches were grouped at each end, eryngiums and pink roses nestled against them.

The centre was filled with very bright pink chrysanthemums, silver sisal was placed among the flowers to give it a misty appearance.

A small urn was next, a branch of contorted willow, some canulia leaves, skimmia, flowering currant and viburnum were used for greenery. Pink alstromeria, lilac freesias, pink tulips, yellow foxtail lillies and majestic stargazer lillies made this a master piece.

A tall, triangled ironstand was the base for the next arrangement, green elaeagnus, tree ferns and euonymus were interspersed with yellow spray carnations, pale yellow alstromeria, deep yellow roses and yellow carnations into which pale shades of pink and yellow skeletonised were placed.

From the centre of the stand hung three test tubes with golden orchids in them. The whole arrangement presented a golden sunset.

Tree ferns and creamy euonymus in a cue vase, with white spray carnations, white lilac and gypsophila. A spray of beargrass with little beads on was placed in the centre to give it the effect of a ballerina.

A lovely wicker basket was filled with palm leaves, curled aspidestra and fatsia leaves, lovely lemons, some cut into halves surrounded by phormium leaves that have been woven, a host of very bright orange gerberas, yellow foxtail lilies and orchids filled the centre, with two stralitzia for height made this a very striking arrangement, each one a work of art.

The vote of thanks was given by Maureen Miller, after a really enjoyable evening.
