THE price of a first class stamp is set to rise from 28p to 30p from Thursday, Royal Mail has announced.
Special delivery services, along with international mail and parcels, will also rise in price, while second class stamps will remain at 21p with prices for some bulk business mail services decreasing slightly.
There will be no change to Parcelforce Worldwide prices for express, time guaranteed parcels.
The price changes are the first steps to be taken by Royal Mail to rebalance its prices to reflect actual costs and prepare for full competition in the market.
