I RECENTLY read that Norwich magistrates have asked licensees to give them a good reason why they want bar extensions on St George's Day.
The answer is, it's St George's Day, a day to celebrate that you are proud to be English.
I also noted that the same magistrates granted licences for St Patrick's Day, with no problems.
So, I write in the hope that other magistrates around the country are not as stupid as those in Norwich and that all licences are granted.
I also hope that local councils do not try to ban the flying of flags etc as they have done in the past.
My flag will fly regardless, from the day of England's football qualifier right through to St George's Day.
