CONTRARY to the views expressed in two recent letters, speed cameras have been proven to act as a deterrent to speeding drivers, so improving road safety for everyone.
Two teenagers have died on Bolton Road in Radcliffe in the past 13 months and speed was shown to be the cause in both deaths. Do these two letter-writers not realise that it could be their loved ones who are victims next time.
Instead of opposing the use of speed cameras, their time would be better spent supporting a campaign that will hopefully prevent any other families experiencing that kind of heartbreak.
