WHAT a very offensive letter Paul Atherton wrote (LET, March 31) on the subject of Barbara Castle and Barbara Castle Way.
I wasn't quite sure where his anger was really directed -- the fact that he can't use excessive speed along a busy road situated on the periphery of the town, or the memory of one of the finest, most honourable women in British history.
Whichever, he is clearly one of the by-products of verbal road rage to use such denigrating language, whilst not really making an intelligent or considered point.
In order to reduce his obvious stress levels, perhaps Mr Atherton should consider a quieter life and restrict his driving to the more peaceful avenues and promenade of St Annes-on-Sea?
Just a thought. Maybe he could pick up one or two history books from the library to gain a bit of an insight into the life and times of Barbara Castle.
