HOPE you all enjoyed the Easter break and are refreshed for the summer term.

On Sunday (April 2) we held the second Giant's Seat campsite meeting and have begun to look at improvements to the current running of the site. This will involve interested leaders taking a more active part in appropriate wardening and repairs.

There will be a rota system put in place and leaders can sign up for their preferred weekends for carrying out wardening duties. Please contact Ann Chapman for dates required.

The county recently ran an Orienteering Badge for the Scouts. The theory part of the badge was held at Middleton HQ where the 33 young people learnt how to draw, read and follow maps. Then their new found knowledge was tested at the new orienteering course at Giant's Seat Campsite.

They had a superb weekend weatherwise and all have passed the badge. This will be presented at a later date by Paul Raine, Assistant County Commissioner for Scouts. Well done everyone!

This month is when we celebrate St George's Day and the parade this year will be on Sunday, April 24. The practice will be held on April 21 at St Thomas's Church at 7pm. Please can flag bearers and escorts come wearing their neckerchiefs to assist with troop recognition at the practice.

Sunday will be full dress uniform and we will meet at Red Bank field at 2pm as usual.
