STEVE Foster scored his 33rd goal of the season to rescue a point for Radcliffe Borough against Matlock Town.

The prolific striker popped up in the 84th minute to force a draw at Stainton Park after a scrappy game.

In the North West Counties League, Atherton LR had to settle for a 1-1 draw after Phil Howard saw two penalties saved by Colne keeper Andy Paxton.

David Simpson gave Colne the lead after 19 minutes, and Atherton had to defend well to keep the scoreline close.

At the start of the second half, Howard hit the bar, and then surprisingly missed a penalty, earned by the tireless Steve Settle.

Atherton levelled the game in the 65th minute when Howard chased a long ball down the left side, sent a cross into the area and Simon Band turned it in unchallenged.

Then with 15 minutes remaining, Howard had a second penalty saved by Paxton.

Atherton Colls game against St Helens was postponed, but they fell to the bottom of the league after Great Harwood picked up a victory against Trafford on Friday night.

Daisy Hills Second Division game against Silsden was also a victim of the weather.
