THE Pennine Care NHS Trust has been honoured for its adult mental health services at the first Greater Manchester Health Awards.
The trust, which covers Bury, received the accolade at the special ceremony celebrating the best of the NHS after it was one of the first in the country to introduce a zoning initiative with Stockport social services.
The initiative ensures all patients using the adult mental health services are reviewed daily and allocated to a red, amber or green zone, with the appropriate support delivered to avoid hospital admissions while focusing urgent treatment on those with the greatest need.
