GOAL hero Dave Flitcroft admitted his sensational 81st minute winning goal at Wycombe on Saturday had more than a touch of luck about it.

The combative midfielder was honest enough to admit after the game that his spectacular 25-yard chip was more of a cross than an attempt on goal.

"It was a cross-cum-shot," he grinned.

"But if you put the ball in that area there's always a chance it will go in.

"It was drifting a bit and the goalkeeper was off his line but I hadn't meant to chip him."

Flitcroft had a fine game at Adams Park and typified the battling display that earned the Shakers a good victory after going behind to one of League Two's form teams.

"The gaffer always says even if you go a goal down make sure you don't concede more," he added.

"I've been at clubs when one has turned to two, three or four but that doesn't happen with this team.

"Graham Barrow's teams don't usually get turned over in that way.

"We have set our standards now, that's what the gaffer requires from us and the boys are coming up with it."

The win extended the Shakers' recent good run to only one defeat in eight.
