A MAN has been told to pay compensation for the theft of a £1.09 sausage roll.
David Ian Jackson, 18, of Belfield Road, Accrington, was told to pay Shell Service Station compensation for the theft by Hyndburn magistrates, who also handed him a community order with 70 hours unpaid work, plus £85 costs.
Jackson also admitted stealing a Samsung mobile phone from Cash Generators and must pay them £80 compensation.
