A man has been found dead in a stream in Whittle-le-Woods near Chorley.
Police and paramedics were alerted to a stream close to Hillside Crescent at 7.30pm last nignt after reports of a man being found in the water.
Police said emergency services transported the man, who has not yet been named, to Chorley Hospital.
He is described as being white and believed to be in his 40s.
A Lancashire police spokesman said: "An investigation into the man's death has begun.
"At this stage, it is not being treated as suspicious."
