A TEENAGER who claimed to be fundraising for Cancer Research as he burgled a 92-year-old woman is being sought by police.
An appeal for witnesses has been made after an Asian boy duped a pensioner in Halifax Road, Brierfield, on Friday.
Sgt Damian Pemberton said the youth asked the OAP if he could borrow a pencil and when she went inside the house he followed her and stole her purse containing £80 in cash. He then left the house.
Police have asked witnesses to the incident, which happened about 9.30am, to contact Nelson police on 01282 425001.
