LOVE is in the air for a Clitheroe couple who are starring in a new Valentine’s Day TV advert.

Rachel and Matt Goodman, who work for Hallmark Cards, got more than they bargained for when they were chosen to star in the company’s new advert.

The loved-up pair who live in the town centre and have two sons, aged seven and four, were chosen by the firm’s creative team after a plea went out to staff, asking for quirky stories about how people had found their partner.

Matt is creative manager and Rachel is creative director at Hallmark in Bradford.

Their romantic story was deemed so touching that it is being featured in a 30-second commercial launching this week on ITV, Sky1 and E4.

Rachel, 35, and Matt, 37, met in 1998 during a paint-balling session where Matt earned his nickname ‘Peaches’ after being shot and bruised on the bottom by his now-wife.

They then had a ‘sympathy’ date and the couple were married in 2001 in Waterton Park Hotel, Wakefield.

Matt said: “The project has been so much fun to work on together.

"After meeting, we ended up both working together at Hallmark which has been fantastic and when we heard about the ad we volunteered to audition.

“We never thought we’d be selected, but pretty soon we’ll be in front of an audience of millions, which is bizarre!”

Established in the UK in 1958, Hallmark Cards is the UK's leading greeting card publisher.
