A 100-year-old Nelson bakery is to take its first steps into cyberspace after launching its first ever website.
Bosses at Oddie’s asked Clitheroe-based Branches Design Ltd to create a site to showcase its custom-made celebration and wedding cakes.
Cakes displayed on the site range from elaborate tiered creations, costing hundreds of pounds, to more simple and cheaper bun towers.
The family-run firm has its bakehouse and offices in Scotland Road and a chain of 15 stores that extends from Nelson to Blackburn.
Lara Oddie, great-great granddaughter of Oddie’s founder is the company’s marketing director.
She said: “Probably the most special and important cake anyone ever buys is their wedding cake.
“This site, which is primarily a photographic site, has been designed to inspire couples by showing them what can be achieved by a craft bakery like ourselves.”
