TOUTS are selling tickets for the upcoming Blackburn Rovers v Burnley match on the internet.

And it is feared Clarets fans, unable to buy a ticket for the away end, may now obtain them in the home sections at Ewood Park.

The Lancashire Telegraph found several websites offering match tickets for sale, often at vastly inflated prices.

Tickets advertised on sites including 1st4 Football Tickets and Worldticketshop.com range from £79.94 to £103.50. The face value of the seats are £35 or less.

Measures have been put in place by both clubs and police to ensure that the game, on October 18, passes without incident.

Tickets for the home end are only available on a limited basis to supporters with a booking history.

In the home end there are a limited number of tickets still available.

The away allocation of 2,880 has sold out to Clarets season ticket holders.

The Burnley fans must also travel on official coaches from Turf Moor to Ewood and back again to avoid clashes between supporters outside the ground.

Rovers managing director Tom Finn said the problem of unofficial ticket websites was not unique to this game.

“We have been aware for some time that a number of sites are purporting to sell tickets for our home matches, and we are working closely with the Premier League on this matter,” he said.

A Premier League spokesman said: “This is ticket touting and it is illegal.”
