A HAUL of beer, wine and spirits has been seized by police in Padiham targeting under-age drinkers.
Dozens of cans of Fosters and Carling lager, along with Carbon White cider, and bottles of vodka and ouzo, were confiscated by officers in the Byron Street area.
Sgt Tim Cussans, neighbourhood sergeant, said: “People regularly come to us complaining about alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour and we are listening and taking action.
“We are patrolling hot spots on a regular basis and taking alcohol off youths and we are also targeting the supply of alcohol by conducting test purchasing operations at local off-licences and shops.
“I hope the message about the police and public not tolerating under-age drinking has gone out to local youths and local communities are reassured.”
