The M65 in East Lancashire has reopened both ways between junctions 6 and 7 following a serious accident.
A car travelling westbound veered off the road, between Rishton and Whitebirk, at around 1pm today.
The eastbound carriageway was also closed to allow the air ambulance to land.
The closure caused delays between Accrington and Blackburn but both carriageways have now reopened and traffic is flowing freely.
