A BURNLEY museum will be a highlight on Jeremy Paxman’s new series, “Victorians, their Story in Pictures.”
The Queen Street mill is the last remaining steam powered textile mill in the world and will feature on the new BBC series on Sunday.
Jeremy Paxman visited Burnley last summer to make the first episode “Painting the Town”.
The newsnight host was very impressed with the history of the town. Catherine Pearson, assistant keeper at the museum, said: “Mr Paxman was very interested to see a living example of Victorian life.
“Due to the potential dangers of the moving drive belts and gear wheels, the noise of the weave shed and the sheer power of the steam engine, it reflects some of the realities of a Victorian working day.”
The museum has featured on other TV programmes including Life on Mars and some of Fred Dibnah’s programmes.
Painting the Town is on BBC1 at 9pm.
