CONCERN is growing for a 39-year-old man after he jumped from a Bridge in Padiham in the early hours of this morning.
The male, who was last seen by a group of friends, stripped off most of his clothes and jumped into the River Calder off a bridge in Park Road, Padiham.
Police said the man was believed to be Andrew Livesey, of Padiham, and urged anyone who knew his whereabouts to come forward.
The fire service was called out around 3.15am this morning.
Mountain rescue teams were launching a search this morning and police said they would be using the force helicopter to try to locate Mr Livesey.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "There is great concern for this man's welfare and this case is currently being treated as a high risk case."
The drop between the bridge and the 'fast flowing river' is around 40 feet.
