THE Clarets’ on-pitch heroics last night were helped in no small part by their 12th man – the devoted fans.

Workplaces had emptied early as supporters trekked through the wind, snow and ice to cheer on the lads.

And inside a packed Turf Moor the level of vocal support was amazing as fans roared the Clarets closer to Wembley.

Even if the side hadn’t pulled off a magnificent victory over the Gunners, the supporters had made it a night to remember anyway.

Scott Johnson, of Barnoldswick, said: “All week I’ve been saying if we play like we played against Chelsea, we’d got a good chance. We’ve got the best manager we’ve ever had.”

His friend Sam Ryan added: “Before the match, all I was saying was ‘we’ll win’. Arsenal are good but we were ready.”

Martin Smith, of Burnley, said: “The atmosphere was brilliant and I’ve met fans from all over.”

Warren Brigg, of Stafford, said: “It was an exciting game. I was at Chelsea and I think Arsenal are a tougher team.”
