A toddler was reportedly sitting on the knee of a passenger in a car which was driven at 150mph in a police chase before it crashed into a lamppost.
The pursuit of the Audi A3 began on Bury New Road in Heywood at 6.57pm last night, Tuesday, and carried on through Rochdale towards Whitworth.
The luxury car was then driven back into Rochdale before reaching 150mph and crashing into a lamppost on Bentley Road at 7.10pm, Greater Manchester Police said.
It emerged that during the chase, a three-year-old child was inside the car sat on the passenger’s knee and a dog was also in the vehicle, according to police.
No injuries have been reported.
The child has been taken into police protection.
The dog has been seized for its own protection and the car has also been seized.
Cannabis was discovered inside the car too.
The driver and the other occupant, both men, were both arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
