A driver's car was wrecked when it smashed into a wooden pole in Blackburn.
The incident happened earlier this afternoon (Tuesday) on Bank Top, opposite the Tesco Express.
Officers cordoned off the footpath after the car rammed into the pole, with the driver appearing to have lost control of his vehicle.
The wooden pole which is part of internet infrastructure was destroyed. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed and could be seen talking on the phone.

Staff from the internet company were on site quickly making the area safe.
There were no traffic delays and both lanes remained open as the car was resting on the pavement area.
