A MAN was taken to hospital after what police have described as a "serious assault" in Bradford.
Police were at the scene of the incident on Cavendish Road in Idle earlier today.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson called the incident a "serious assault" and said a 23-year-old man had been taken to hospital.
They added that enquiries were ongoing.
A police cordon was in place and officers were in attendance when the Telegraph & Argus visited the scene this morning.
A resident said shortly before noon: "I got up at 7am and saw a police van.
"All the tape was already up.
"They're now putting markers down on the road."
Julie Humphreys, a resident who is also a councillor for the Bolton and Undercliffe ward on Bradford Council, said: "I hope the person who's been injured is OK."
Cllr Humphreys said "everybody is concerned" but said she understood there was no danger to the wider area and added: "The police are doing everything they can."
She urged anyone with information to contact West Yorkshire Police.
Cllr Jeanette Sunderland (Lib Dem, Idle & Thackley) said: "Clearly it's worrying, I would urge anyone that knows anything to get in touch with the police."
She said people can also pass information on via Crimestoppers and urged people to not speculate on social media.
The cordon was lifted at around 1.30pm.
