Scene of many a night out for revellers in East Lancashire in the Sixties, this was the lounge bar at Cranberry Fold in Darwen.
Taken in 1966 this photo shows the ‘quieter’ area of the venue on the moors above Darwen which had become one of the North West’s top entertainment venues attracting artists such as Shirley Bassey, The Shadows, Morecambe and Wise and Tommy Cooper.
Elsewhere in the complex there was a dancefloor, giant chandelier and memorably, for a time, a pool featuring bikini-clad dancers.
