The sun fell favourably today as a well-loved food festival returned to town.

Foodies rejoiced as Ramsbottom Chocolate and Cheese Festival arrived in the market town today, Sunday, March 24.

The event ran from 12pm-4pm.

Hundreds of people lined the streets around Ramsbottom Civic Hall as they celebrated the two dairy-based delights.

Visitors sampled wares from artisan businesses, with bread, cakes, candles, flapjacks, and more accompanying the headline products.

The event also boasted live music, stalls, cooking demos and creative spaces with children among other offerings.

Tom Griffiths from the Finest Fudge Company is back for his second year due to the success of last year. Tom, from Blackburn, started the company five years ago and has gone from strength to strength making every flavour of fudge imaginable.

He supplies across the UK online and has just won a contract supplying various shops. His wares can be found at: https://www.thefinestfudgeco.co.uk/

The festival has been that good that Tom also told his friend, Ru Blackett, who runs The Victorian Candle Co.

He has been "impressed" having had a "great day with sales" and says he'll definitely be back next year. He can be found at: https://victoriancandle.co/

The Twisted Curry Co proprietors Steve and Gillian from Wetwang in East Yorkshire have been coming for the last 14 years.

They are well supported in the area and do a lot of online sales following the event. They "love" that it is well attended and supported. They can be found here: https://thetwistedcurry.co.uk/

The Wilde Bakery was also in attendance, an artisan flapjack company from Morecambe, run by father, son and mother.

Andy Wilde has returned for his fourth year, selling different flavoured flapjacks. He "couldn't believe" the number of people attending and sampling their goods.

Other stalls include Cheshire Cheesecakes and The Great British Cheese Company.

Here is a collection of pictures from the event taken by ace photographer Danny Crompton, showing the sun-soaked streets and the delectable-looking treats on offer.
