More details have been released about a popular festival in Colne, which is set to return this summer.

The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival is set to return from Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25.

Some details about the line-up have also been released.

The line-up will include a mix of blues award-winning artists and talented local bands and musicians.

Kyla Brox, Chantel McGregor, The Cinelli Brothers and The Milk Men are some of the artists that have been announced with more set to be released in the coming weeks.

There are three venues for the event this year, including The Pendle Hippodrome, The Exchange Project Stage and a new venue for this year which is The Little Theatre Acoustic Stage.

Colne Blues Society will also be programming the Official Fringe Festival which will see over 130 performances across 14 Official Fringe venues, which are free to attend.

There will also be family friendly entertainment taking place across the weekend, including stalls, street performers, face painting and much more.

A spokesperson for the festival said: “The line-up will include a mix of blues award winning artists, the very best of blues artists in the UK right now, and some extremely talented local bands and musicians. 

“Other notable artists announced so far include: Chantel McGregor, The Cinelli Brothers and The Milk Men.

“The Official Fringe will also be taking place once again, with venues across Colne embracing an incredible weekend of live music.”

The festival was recently named as a finalist in the 2024 UK Blues Awards for the second year running.

It is one of five festivals competing for the ‘UK blues-based festival of the year' award, also including Alfold Rock and Blues Festival, Carlisle Blues and Rock Festival, Swanage Blues Festival and Upton Blues Festival.
