A CHARTBUSTING Britpop band is heading to East Lancs for an intimate warm-up show, it has been announced.
Dodgy - the outfit behind sunshine favourites like Good Enough, In A Room and Staying Out For The Summer, will be coming to Darwen's Sunbird Records on March 7.
The four-piece - frontman Nigel Clarke with Andy Miller, Matthew Priest and Stuart Thoy - are heading out later that month on tour to play their classic album Free Peace Sweet in full plus a greatest hits selection.
But before shows at the Sheffield Leadmill, Liverpool O2 and Norwich Waterfront, backed by Chris Helme from The Seahorses, they will be heading to Sunbird, which is enjoying a renaissance under new promoters Nathan Howard and Danny McDonough after their Easter 2023 reopening.
A Dodgy spokesman said: " We are so happy to be heading to Darwen and see some friends and the wonderful work this vital grassroots venue is doing to support the community and emerging talent."
Tickets are already on sale online for the 200-capacity gig, which is being promoted by Sunbird in association with What's Your Sound. Special guests will be announced later.
Dodgy are also due to co-headline the Party in the Pews festival in Macclesfield on May 25 and 26.
