Major disruption has been caused on a section of the M62 today after motorists were hit by flying debris and a large oil spillage.
The M62 in Merseyside was closed westbound following the incident at junction 7 and junction 6 on the A57 Warrington Road (Rainhill Stoops).
All lanes have been now been re-opened on junction 7 of the M62 westbound.
North west Motorway Police also confirmed they had a arrested a driver on the junction for 'endangering road users'.
According to the National Highways North West, a number of vehicles hit a prop shaft, which became detached from a bus.
There is queueing traffic on the approach to junction 7, A57 Warrington Road, but the incident has now cleared.
A spokesperson for National Highways North West said: “The M62 in Merseyside remains closed westbound between J7 (Rainhill) and J6 (M57) due to a large oil/diesel spillage caused by a number of vehicles hitting a prop shaft which became detached from a bus.
“A significant clear-up operation will be ongoing into the afternoon."
