There are "long tailbacks" on the A59 near Langho due to a broken down vehicle.
The disruption is on approach to the Langho roundabout near Northcote and is causing disruption almost back as far as Whalley.
Police are advising drivers to find alternative routes.
A police spokesperson said: "Please can we advise you of a broken down vehicle on the A59 at Northcote by the Langho roundabout, which is causing tailbacks in both directions.
"Recovery is enroute but please take alternative routes if possible."
Update: The road is now clear.
