A crash on the A56 is causing stationary traffic with all lanes closed.

AA Traffic and Travel have reported that all lanes have been stopped due to a crash, causing stationary traffic close to Rawtenstall.

The crash is located on the A56 Northbound from A680 Manchester Road to A680 Blackburn Road (Rising Bridge Roundabout).

Delays of three minutes have been reported on the A56 Northbound with an average speed of 15mph.

Delays of eight minutes are expected on Todd Hall Road with an average speed 10mph.

The incident was first reported at 1:39pm and was last updated at 3:05pm.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "At 1:34pm on December 20, two fire engines from Rawtenstall and Hyndburn attended a road traffic collision on the A56 on Haslingden.

"Firefighters released one casualty from their vehicle before placing the individual in the care of North West Ambulance Service paramedics.

"Crews were in attendance for one and a half hours."
