The body of a man has been found in a field near Rivington.
Police said the man was found on Dean Brook, close to Horrobin Lane, and he was approximately 40-50 years old.
He had a dark goatee-style beard, cropped dark hair which was slightly greying, and was of a medium to large build.
The man was wearing a green 'Foxy' jacket, black Slazenger tracksuit bottoms, a white/grey SoulCal & Co t-shirt, and green wellies.
He was also wearing a distinctive orange Casio digital watch.
Police say he is yet to be identified, but it has no connection to the ongoing search for missing Skelmersdale man Brian Blakeman.
The man was found at around 2.50pm on Thursday (December 7) and his death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
Police are now asking for anyone who knows who this could be to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting log 0783 of December 7.
