Two teenagers have been arrested after large scale disorder broke out in a town centre over the weekend.

The mass brawl happened in Bacup town centre on Saturday night (October 21).

Following inspections of CCTV footage and further enquiries Bacup police arrested a 15-year-old boy from Rossendale and a 16-year-old boy from Bacup on suspicion of affray today (October 24).

Sergeant Tony Hardman from the Rossendale neighbourhood policing team said: “This behaviour is unacceptable, and we will not tolerate it.

“We will continue to work with our communities and partners as part of Operation Centurion to tackle anti-social behaviour in the area.”

Further enquiries are ongoing to identify all those responsible, if anyone has any information please contact 101 and quote log log 1504 of October 21.

Operation Centurion is Lancashire Police’s response to tackling anti-social behaviour backed by Police and Crime Commissioner Andrew Snowden and £2m of extra funding secured from the government’s new Anti-social Behaviour Action Plan.
