Brassic’s cast, including Michelle Keegan and Chorley’s Joe Gilgun, descended on  a converted church in Bacup, in a behind the scenes clip of the latest series.

On Sky TV’s YouTube video Aaron Heffernan, who plays Ash on the comedy series, gave viewers a glimpse at what goes on before the cameras start rolling.

In the most recent behind the scenes video, the cast and crew can be seen at The Circle, which is the former St Johns the Evangelist Church on Fern Street that has been transformed into an arts, culture and events space.

In the video Aaron said the venue acted as the cast’s green room, a place where actors can relax when not filming.

Aaron said: “We are just strolling around Bacup and Bacup is where they make up all the dreams.

“We are going into a church for our green room… but it’s also a restaurant. It’s a church, restaurant, green room all in one go.”

Once inside, Aaron said: “This could be the greatest green room we have ever had in our lives”.

The video also shows the actors rehearsing behind a building, on Boston Road.

Tom Hanson, who plays Cardi, Ryan Sampson, who plays Tommo, Bronagh Gallagher, who plays Carol, Joanna Higson, who plays Sugar, Michelle Keegan, who plays Erin, and Joe Gilgin, who plays Vinnie, all make an appearance in the clip.

The cast visited The Circle at the end of September, 2022, and were filming scenes for season five, which is currently available to watch.

Owner Freddy Khattab said it was a “delight” to welcome cast and crew to the space and said they amassed hundreds of new social media followers as a result.

Freddy said Joe had high praise for the venue’s cheese pizza.

“Joe was having his makeup finished upstairs,” Freddy said.

“He is really funny in real life too.”

Bacup doubles as the backdrop to the series, the fictional town of Hawley, and film crews have been spotted filming series six in East Lancashire over the last few weeks.
