Police found an “industrial size” cannabis farm in Bacup last week.
Officers said the farm’s set-up was orchestrated by people involved in organised crime “who have little to no regard for the community”.
Police said drugs grown on an industrial scale are typically grown with harmful chemicals that speed up plant growth.
Enquiries into the cannabis plant are still ongoing and anyone with information has been asked to get in touch.
A police spokesperson said: “Last week officers from your Rossendale Neighbourhood Policing team discovered and dismantled an industrial size cannabis farm in the heart of Bacup.
“This type of set-up was clearly orchestrated by people involved in organised crime who have little to no regard for the community, the people affected by these drugs which are grown on an industrial scale using a number of harmful chemicals to speed up growth or for the people forced to run these farms, people often illegally brought into the country for the sole purpose of farming these set-ups.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing in to the people involved in this set-up so we cannot comment more at this time, but would ask that if anyone has any information about drug dealing in our area please contact police on 101 or via the Lancashire police website, another option is to contact crime stoppers which is 100% anonymous on 0800 555 111.”
