Restricted Forest went off with a bang yesterday as thousands of music lovers flocked to Blackburn’s Witton Park to bask in the sunshine and rave along to dozens of DJs.

Organiser of the festival, Zander Lawrenson, said people seemed to really enjoy the day, and is encouraging revellers to stay tuned as he has some big announcements for 2024.

Zander said: “The weather was amazing the people seem to really enjoy it.

“There were a lot of smiling faces I saw throughout the night and most guests stayed till the end, so I want to thank each and every one who came and supported us, from the security, to medics, to artists, performers and all the staff who were involved for all their hard work.

“My biggest thank you has to go to my dad Paul Lawrenson though, for designing and building all three stages, they looked fantastic.”

Headlining the festival was legendary DJ Darren Styles, along with old skool dance music stalwart, Judge Jules.

Zander went on: “My best set of the night was Darren Styles - what a performance he put on.

“Judge Jules and his amazing Ibiza classics & K-Klass were up there too.

“I have to say another huge thank you to the brands Clubland and s2s who were involved.

“We have got some big plans for 2024 with some more customised stages, festival decor and huge artists coming to Blackburn.

“All the information will be found on the Facebook and Instagram Restricted Forest pages.”

Zander said music fans feeling bereft following the festival should start planning ahead for September, when they’ll return to Witton Park with another epic line-up.

He added: “If anyone already has the Restricted Forest blues we will be back in the woods of Witton with another show from Lost Wood Festival on Saturday September 16, with some amazing artists from Hedex, Friction, Macky Gee, Skepsis, Darkzy and Window Kid, Devilman and Alcemist and many more.

“But for now, that’s a wrap!”
