As the nation gets ready to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday, many neighbourhoods will be holding street parties to commemorate the Royal occasion.

In Blackburn, three roads will be closed over the weekend as the people of Malvern Avenue, Langdale Close and Mya Street host their own celebrations.

Malvern Avenue from the junction of Sunny Bank Road and the junction of Marlton Road will be closed on Saturday from 12pm until 9pm.

Langdale Close from the junction with Langdale Road and the junction of Beechwood Drive will be closed on Sunday from 1pm until 9pm.

May Street from its junction with Nottingham Street to its junction with Walter Street will be closed from 12pm until 9pm on Sunday. 

Meanwhile, in Hyndburn, there will be several more road closures in place.

On Saturday, Poplar Avenue in Great Harwood and Bold Street in Accrington will be closed.

Then on Sunday, Bowler Avenue in Accrington, Woodfield Avenue in Baxenden and The Coppice in Clayton-le-Mooors will all be closed for street parties.

The Kings coronation service will take place on the morning of Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey.

The Coronation service at Westminster Abbey will begin at 11am and finish at 1pm.
