An ex-racing greyhound is looking for a forever home after arriving at an animal sanctuary almost a month ago.

Roddy has been at Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in Edenfield for a few weeks now and since his arrival, not a single outside enquiry has been made into his welfare.

The beautiful greyhound is five-years-old, and came to Bleakholt after he retired.

He is extremely affectionate and walks nicely on a lead but does have to be muzzled.

Sanctuary manager Karen Weed said: "Roddy is a nice-natured dog who is good with similar-sized dogs. He is great and we want to find the perfect family for him.

"We get a number of ex-racing greyhounds in like Roddy and people think they need a lot of exercise but they do tend to be couch potatoes.

"We do our best to find them the perfect home as they have usually had a tougher life at times. They do make the most wonderful loving pets."
