A celebrity from Blackburn is set to appear on the upcoming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here all-star series.
Former Westholme School pupil, Helen Flanagan, will be facing her fears once again as she has been confirmed in the I’m A Celebrity… South Africa line-up.
The ITV spin-off will see famous faces from the original format battle it out to become the first I’m A Celebrity Legend.
The 32-year-old actress, star took part in I’m A Celebrity back in 2012 and is regarded by many as one of the most memorable contestants to have appeared on the show.
Helen, best known for playing Rosie Webster in the ITV soap Coronation Street, was voted to take part in her fair share of Bushtucker Trials due to her often squeamish reaction, which entertained audiences.
Flanagan, who finished in seventh place the first time around, said: “I am not saying I am going to go in and be a jungle warrior and be absolutely amazing because I will not.
“Yes, I will be scared but I will have a go and I will be a lot better than last time.”
The announcement was made on the latest episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Speaking to her one million Instagram followers, Helen said: “If you saw Saturday Night Takeaway then you will know I’m on I’m a Celebrity South Africa, which starts at the end of April.
“You’re going to love the show.”
Diversity dance troupe star Jordan Banjo, TV presenter Carol Vorderman and Bolton-born boxer Amir Khan, are just some of the other celebrities confirmed in the line-up.
Over the past two decades, I’m A Celebrity has featured an array of big names, including Caitlyn Jenner, Ian Wright, Peter Andre and Kerry Katona.
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa follows the end of the 22nd series of the original format, which saw former England footballer Jill Scott crowned Queen of the Jungle in November 2022.
McPartlin and Donnelly have hosted the show since its launch in 2002, with the exception of the 2018 series when McPartlin was temporarily replaced by Holly Willoughby.
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa is set to air on ITV1 and ITVX later this April.
