A fundraiser has been set up to support the family of a ‘devoted mother’ who was found dead in her home in Mill Hill.

A GoFundMe page, which has already raised more than £2,700, will help the family pay for her funeral.

A statement on the page, set up by family friend Hayley Ashby, spoke about how Charlotte’s family had their life ‘torn apart’ after hearing about Charlotte’s death.

The statement reads: “Charlotte's family’s life was torn apart on Saturday, March 4, when they had the devastating news that Charlotte's life had been taken from her for no reason at all.

“She was a young woman with everything to look forward to.

“At the age 31, her life was ripped away from her in the most horrendous way.

“Her death was completely unexpected and has devastated all those close to Charlotte.

“Charlotte was a loving caring friend to anybody that knew her. She was very friendly, and always willing to help anybody.

“She was a mother of two young children and a loving sister to Joanne and a great daughter to her mum and dad.

“She was always full of life and loved spending time with her family.

“Charlotte’s family will be so great full to each and every one who would donate to help with the funeral cost.

“They are going through so much at the moment and if this can help them financially then that would be great.”

Yesterday, the family of Charlotte Wilcock paid tribute to their ‘world, love and life’.

The statement from Charlotte’s family said: “Charlotte’s death has left us devastated and truly heartbroken.

“There are no words to describe the tragic loss of Charlotte. She was a devoted mother who was loved by many – she was our world, our love and our life.

“Thank you for all the messages of love offering condolences. It shows what a truly magnificent person she was and how she touched so many people’s hearts.

“As a family we are grieving and in shock. The hurt and pain we are suffering is unimaginable.

“We ask for privacy in order to try and come to terms with our loss.”

Police were called around 7.55am on Saturday (March 4) to reports that an assault had taken place the previous evening.

A short time later the body of Charlotte was sadly found at her home on Primrose Terrace.

Anthony Stinson, 30, of Queen Victoria Street, Blackburn, was charged with Miss Wilcock’s murder and appeared at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Monday followed by an appearance at Preston Crown Court this morning (Wednesday, March 8).

He has been remanded in custody with a trial date set for August 2023.

Three more men – aged 32 and 24 from Blackburn and aged 31 from Clitheroe – were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and have since been released under investigation.
