Food hygiene inspectors have rated three eateries in Blackburn with Darwen in the latest round of inspections.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have rated one eatery a five out of five and two eateries a four out of five.

KFC at 9-11 Victoria Court, Blackburn was awarded a five out of five after it was inspected on February 13.

In the inspection report, it states the hygienic food handling, and the management of food safety are both ‘very good’ and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building was rated ‘good’.

Alexandra Hotel at 29 Dukes Brow, Blackburn was awarded a four out of five hygiene rating after an inspection on January 19, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

According to inspectors, the hygienic food handling and the management of food safety are both ‘good’ whilst the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building is ‘generally satisfactory’.

A Blackburn with Darwen takeaway has also been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Oriental Star, a takeaway at 32 Whalley Banks, Blackburn was given the score after assessment on January 11, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The inspection report states both the management of food safety, and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building are ‘good’ whilst the hygienic food handling is ‘generally satisfactory’.

It means that of Blackburn with Darwen's 204 takeaways with ratings, 112 (55 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
