Sir Ian McKellen took centre stage once again - this time at London Fashion Week.

London Fashion Week was back with a bang for autumn/winter 2023, returning to a full schedule of catwalk shows and presentations after last season’s event was scaled back following the death of the Queen.

Celebrities were out in force – on the runways and the front row – as designers old and new unveiled their latest collections.

And the Bolton School old boy wowed fashionistas with his 'wondrous nautical display’.

The Burnley born thespian sauntered onto the stage reciting the poem ‘The Coming of Arthur’ by Alfred Lord Tennyson whilst wearing a eye-catching navy pea coat, trousers, and beret.

Showcased under the S.S.DALEY label by Steven Stokey-Dailey, the 83-year-old's distinctive Shakespearian voice reverberated scenes of a stormy tempest.

After completing his runway walk Sir Ian signed off by joining his designer with an elegant bow before leaving the stage.

The Lord of The Rings actor will be returning to Greater Manchester in April for the pantomime Mother Goose alongside West End star Anna Jayne Casey and John Bishop at The Lowry.

Sir Ian has been back to Bolton a number of times, choosing it to host his 80th birthday show at the Albert Halls and showed his support for the very first Bolton Pride.
