Update: The road has now re-opened.
The A59 Preston New Road has been blocked off both ways due to a crash.
Police are currently at the scene of the crash that reportedly took place next to the Tickled Trout Hotel in Samlesbury.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area as “long delays are likely” and traffic is building. The incident was first reported at around 5pm on traffic updates website, INRIX.
INRIX states: “Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to crash on A59 Preston New Road both ways between A5085 Blackpool Road and M6 J31 (Samlesbury).”
A spokesperson for the police said: “We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Preston New Road, next to the Tickled Trout Hotel in Samlesbury. Please avoid the area as long delays are likely.
“Thank you for your patience.”
It is unknown whether anyone was injured in the crash. Police have been contacted for more information.
