Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has praised a Pleasington restaurant for its Sunday roast calling it “the best she has ever had”.

Helen, who attended Blackburn’s Westholme School, visited The Clog and Billycock, in Billinge End Road, on Sunday, January 15.

The mum-of-three had a nut roast, specifically a Jerusalem artichoke, parsnip, kale, maple and pecan nut roast, hailing it as the best she has ever eaten.

Helen added she is a regular customer, saying the food served at the pub is “always gorgeous”.

Posting to her one million Instagram followers, Helen shared a snap of her delicious-looking dinner and said: “This was absolutely unreal.

"The best nut roast I have ever had. [The] food here is always gorgeous.”

She also shared a short video of herself with eldest daughter, Matilda, after they had finished their meals.

As well as a nut roast, the pub also has meaty Sunday roast options including beef, pork, chicken and lamb, all served with the full trimmings.

Helen isn’t the only customer to have raved about the pub’s roast with dozens leaving top reviews on Facebook and Google.

One person said: “Fantastic Sunday lunch, food was top notch and great service. Very reasonable prices for a fantastic meal. We will be back.”

Another said: “Loved the Sunday roast and would almost say the portions were too big as I hate wasting food.

“My son is already planning to go back with his family and we will too when we're back visiting them.”

“This was most certainly the best Sunday roast we've had,” said another.

Helen, 32, who played Rosie Webster in Coronation Street before going on maternity leave, also recently opened up about a breast augmentation surgery she had earlier this month.

On Instagram she said: “I am for body confidence, and very much for supporting other women and supporting women in all choices that they decide to do.

“I think if something really is something bothering you then I think it’s a good thing to do something about it.”

Helen shared that she is on her second day of recovery so hasn’t been able to shower properly because you ‘have to keep the wounds dry’.

She added: “I never thought I would have a boob job; I was always really busty.

“Basically, my boobs just changed so much from pregnancy and breast feeding. It’s a really tricky one here because I loved all my breastfeeding journeys. I’m a massive supporter of breastfeeding, I think it’s an amazing experience you can have with your children, and I would do it time and time again.

“But in total I probably breastfed for about three years…and I think it’s because I was quite big before… they just sagged. There’s no nicer way to say it. They just became really saggy and it affected my confidence.”
