The Lancashire Rail Ramblers and Community Rail Lancashire have announced a series of guided walks in East Lancashire from January to June 2023.

The walks will take in the beautiful sights of Whalley, Clitheroe, Accrington, Pleasington, Bamber Bridge, and Brierfield.

The guided walks are free of charge and will begin at one of the train stations on the East Lancashire line, providing easy and sustainable access to the countryside.

The walks are suitable for all the family and range in difficulty from easy and moderate to strenuous.

The timetable for the walks is now available on the Community Rail Lancashire website.

Richard Watts, Chair of Community Rail Lancashire, said: "We're looking forward to exploring East Lancashire with the Lancashire Rail Ramblers in the new year. This timetable takes in the beautiful countryside and villages that surround the East Lancashire line.

"Taking the train is a great way to reach our countryside and provide easy, sustainable access to everyone. The Lancashire Rail Ramblers also pass on lots of interesting facts about the locations during walks, so you'll learn something new too."
