The main road through Whitworth has been closed following a crash earlier this afternoon.
Police were called to reports of a crash in Market Street, Whitworth, at around 2pm today.
The road has been closed between the junctions with Tong Lane and Lloyd Street while emergency services assess the incident.
As a result, there is slow traffic in the Rossendale town. The incident was first reported on the traffic updates website, INRIX at 2.20pm.
The website states: “Road closed and slow traffic due to crash on A671 Market Street both ways between Lloyd Street and Tong Lane.”
A spokesperson for the police said: “We are currently dealing with a Road Traffic Collison on Market Street, Whitworth, Rochdale.
"The road has been closed from Tong Lane and Lloyd street.
“Thank you for your patience.”
