People will be able to learn the history of the Pendle witches at the same time as listening and looking out for paranormal activity this Halloween.

The Cauldron of Curiosity and The Pendle Witch Paranormal Society are hosting two spine chilling ghost walks on the trail of the Pendle Witches, using high tech paranormal equipment to search for restless spirits of the infamous Pendle Hill.

Joanne Mayben, 40, owner of The Cauldron of Curiosity, has done previous walks like these two exploring both sides of the story and history of the Pendle witches.

She said each time they do walks at Pendle Hill there is 'strong energy' and she is looking forward to welcoming people on the walks later this month.

Joanne said: "So with our walks we are trying to offer an alternative and open people’s minds and imaginations to think were they actually witches or were they trying to do a good thing.

"I'm a practising witch and own a witchcraft shop in Harrogate, so I try to offer a different take as I actually believe they were a little cleverer than they were given credit for.

"So, people who attend can expect a story right form the very beginning as to what we believe to be true right through to facts, what happened to them, why they were persecuted, who told tales on who and then we work with the Paranormal Witch Society, and they are bringing their paranormal investigation equipment and we will see if we can communicate.

"There is a lot of energy up there and not just from the witches and the people of Pendle, but there is a lot of energy.

"Last weekend we had mysterious flashing lights going off from cat balls which flash when you touch them, and we had one last weekend where everybody was on one side of the room and the cat ball was on the other side and it flashed five times every time we asked for something to happen; we had a lot of K2 activities and relevant words coming through a spirit box and much more.

"We did the same walk last weekend, and it sold out, so I think people are intrigued.

"This isn't about making money either, it's about getting two sides of the story across, it is something we are hopefully looking at doing all year round."

The two walks are on October 28, priced at £20 per person, at 7.30pm and 10pm in Barley, Lancashire, BB12 9LF.

Each walk is two hours long and is over some rough terrain. These events are for 18+ only.

There are only twenty places available for each walk, so if you would like to book tickets, email thecauldronofcuriosity@gmail.com or contact them on Facebook at The Cauldron of Curiosity.
