This was written after BBC Radio Lancashire came to the centre to do a live feature. Just a few of my musings. I hope you enjoy it!

A feeling of anticipation could be sensed everywhere
Today was the day we were live on air
Transmitter aerial raised up to twenty feet
High tec equipment booted up, tests now complete.

"All across the country" we heard the announcer say
"This is Radio Lancashire and we are out and about today
The Royal Lancs Show is off, the ground's a sea of mud
So now we are going somewhere equally as good."

Presenter Steve raised the mike to his lips
"We are here at Pendle's hidden gem" was first of his quips
"Here's Angela White, who's the manager of this place"
The show was now on the road, going at a cracking pace.

Angela's description of the Centre then set the scene
Some customers were interviewed, others not so keen
A few tales of the museum were told by Ted
Of how the Bannisters lived, how shoes were "med".

History unfolded itself for a few moments more
Then i heard some paying customers come through the door
I explained to the lady what we were doing that morning
Then she told me something without any warning.

"I'm a practicing witch and I'm here to see
Just how the Witches of Pendle worked compared with me"
"Steve, get down here quick, and bring your mike as well
I've found us a real live witch, who knows she might cast a spell!"

She told of times long past and what witches used to do
Then she flew off th the tea room for a piece of cake and a brew
"Well that's a turn up for the books," I said to Steve
"It all happened just by chance; we didn't have it up our sleeve."

Steve the turned his mike on Sue
She's the reluctant one of our crew
A few words said amidst "go away" gesticulation
And that was the end of her broadcast to the nation.

It was now time for our gardener Peter, to star
This lad's a natural and will go far
Banter with Steve, giving plants their Latin name
Peter was enjoying his moment of fame.

Listeners hear "meet Frank, poet extraordinaire"
I didn't really feel that as I went "live on air"
My poem of the Frozen Goose, was now being broadcast
I read it as quickly as I could, but hopefully not too fast!

The goats in the barn we insisted Steve should see
A bit more banter up there with Peter, Angela and me
Heather didn't find her interview any bit alarming
She was good, very good, in fact she was charming.

Anne Eves spoke in her usual eloquent style
Followed by Catherine and Ghosa after a little while
Steve it must be said, had done a grand job to be fair
I know we all enjoyed being "Live on Air".
