A DRUNKEN yob who knocked out a teenager for no reason in a Burnley park has been spared an immediate jail term.
Liam David Cawtherley set about the 16-year-old and headbutted him as he sat on a see-saw in Woodchip Park.
The defendant then apologised to his victim.
Cawtherley who had been facing a jail term, was given 120 days in prison, suspended for 12 months, with 12 months' supervision and 150 hours' unpaid work.
Cawtherley, of Lyndhurst Road, Burnley, must also pay £60 costs and £50 compensation.
The bench told Cawtherley it was fortunate the injuries to the victim were not more serious.
The chairman said: "If you do it again, you certainly will be going to prison. You have got to keep your nose clean."
Sue Campbell, prosecuting, told the court Cawtherley had approached the victim and headbutted him.
The defendant then punched him and kicked him in the face.
